Do you want to help develop the future of addiction care?

Region Örebro County is developing care in accordance with the national co-morbidity reform, aiming to provide equitable, coordinated, and person-centered addiction care. The addiction care and specialist psychiatric department 4 are part of this strategic work and are in a development phase where new methods are being shaped to meet patients with mental illness and addiction issues. The reform proposed in the co-morbidity investigation represents a significant transformation in Sweden and will entail an exciting journey where we do not know exactly what the goal looks like. We know that care for individuals with addiction disorders needs to improve and become more cohesive, especially for the most vulnerable. This means that those of us on this journey will have the opportunity to help shape the future addiction care in our region.

We are now looking for nurses who want to contribute to a long-term development effort where a holistic view, collaboration, and quality are at the center. We will soon invite you to a lunch meeting if you are curious about us and want to hear more about the future of addiction care. You will meet managers and HR who will discuss the future of addiction care, the operations, and we will answer your questions. Does that sound interesting? Once you have submitted your application, we will contact you with information about time and place. We look forward to meeting you and hope you want to join us on this journey! We offer a structured and individually tailored introduction based on your experience and role. This includes planned observations in other psychiatric inpatient departments and in addiction outpatient care, which provides a broader understanding of the care chain, strengthens collaboration between operations, and contributes to an increased holistic view in the care of the patient. With us, there are good opportunities for continuous professional development.

Specialist psychiatric department 4 has a county assignment to meet the needs of residents for round-the-clock care for addiction disorders and co-morbidity, and together with specialist psychiatric department 1, also provide care for patients with psychotic disorders. Department 4 offers assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for patients with addiction issues and/or psychotic disorders. Our patients often have both psychiatric and somatic co-morbidities. Care is provided according to HSL and the coercive care legislations LPT, LRV, LVU, and LVM.

Job Responsibilities

As a nurse in department 4, you play a central role in the psychiatric and somatic care of inpatient patients and in implementing the region's strategic direction. There is a wide variation in patients' care needs, planning, and lengths of stay, which means that the tasks for you as a nurse are also varied.

The tasks include, among others:

. Assessment, planning, implementation, and follow-up of psychiatric and somatic care

. Medication management and sampling

. Rounding work in close collaboration with doctors

. Supportive and motivational conversations

. Collaboration with other care providers, social services, police, and relatives

. Active participation in development and improvement work related to new methods within co-morbidity

For specialist nurses, there is an opportunity for increased responsibility, mentoring functions, and active participation in operational and professional development.

The work is carried out in multi-professional teams, and collaborating with our own outpatient care and, for example, social services is fundamental to the operation and an important part of the region's development of care for individuals with co-morbidity.
